What do we do?
Young Pioneers was Founded by Shivanie Rampersaud in October 2013. The Organisation is driven by a team of enthusiastic individuals and focuses primarily on leadership, youth development, and humanitarian work.
Our teams are divided by districts and serve several catchment areas, starting from Parika in Region 3-Skeldon Region 6. While our main focus is on the coastlands of Guyana our work isn't limited to these areas, we also visit remote communities and villages to provide our services to those in need.
Our work is very wide-based, some of our activities include Training and Educational Sessions, free educational courses, Social and Activism Campaigns, Food and Clothing distributions, School Supplies Distribution, Assistance to Domestic Violence Victims and Victims of Abuse, We offer free counseling of any type to individuals worldwide, We expose youths to leadership roles and involve them in community development, we also provide opportunities for scholarships, fellowships, and entrepreneurship both locally and internationally among many other activities.

About the Founder

Shivanie Rampersaud is a young professional in the Communication industry. She is a Global Goodwill Ambassador for Antigua & Barbuda and an Honorary Member of National Human Rights & Humanitarian Federation, India.
​
She is also the recipient of several prestigious awards for her writing and contributions to journalism. These include the Pan American Health Award for Best Health Journalism Coverage, three consecutive years along with the United Nations (UN) Award for the Best UN story coverage.
Further, She has been a part of several international organizations including the Commonwealth and the Pan American Health Organisation/ World Health Organisation (PAHO/WHO) in both capacities as a lecturer and Mentor as well as a participant.
She served as one of the Guyanese Representatives in the Commonwealth Women's Mentorship Scheme Pilot program.
Ms. Rampersaud has a special interest in the Health Sector and has been a volunteer and Mentor since the age of 14.
